Cape/Observer Graphic Short Story prizewinner announced

The Cape/Observer Graphic Short Story competition is now in its fourth year and the winner was announced today. Stephen Collins' romantically strange and strangely romantic parable In Room 208 won and understandably so - its a beautifully illustrated and hauntingly written piece that reminded me of the works of Charles Burns and Craig Thompson.

You can read the comic in full HERE and runner-up story Square Eyes by Anna Mill HERE

Both comics, along with some other favoured entries, are on display at Orbital Comics, 8 Great Newport Street, London, WC2. The Comica 2010 festival runs throughout November at various venues in London. For full programme, visit comicafestival.com

Postscript: In Room 208 was designed to be read as two double-page spreads - to see what I mean see the version posted on Stephen's blog HERE.
