Small Press Big Bristols

This weekend is the Bristol International Comics and Small Press Expo and Lee & Stace will be there - in fact The Gorgeous Geordie will be part of the panel on podcasting on the sunday. Only a fool or a communist would miss that!

If you want to give Lee or Stace your comics to consider for review or perhaps shower us with praise, cash, booze or skimpy knickers this is what we look like...
...yes, sad to say this is actually a photograph of the dynamic duo not, as it may appear, a sketch by some semi-intoxicated beast-woman. Nature can be so cruel.

RIP Peter O'Donnell

I was saddened to read this morning that Peter O'Donnell - creator of Modesty Blaise - has passed away.

I've been really enjoying Titan's superb paperback collections of the strip and recommend them highly. Beyond the strips themselves, which are superbly written by O'Donnell and beautifully illustrated by the likes of JimHoldaway, Enrique Romero, Neville Colvin, John M Burns and Pat Wright, I particularly enjoyed O'Donnell's introductions to each story.

Hopefully Titan will eventually collect the whole run but its sad that we won't be getting any more of O'Donnell's brief behind-the-scenes commentaries in the later books.

Stacey guests on Geek Syndicate again!

Yes, Stacey continues to tighten her iron grip on the geek podcasting world, standing in to co-host the mighty Geek Syndicate podcast for the second episode in a row.

In episode 153:
Stacey complains about technology, entirely fails to impress Barry with her news (but gets him to sing the theme tune from The Littlest Hobo) and appreciates assorted geek culture including even more Doctor Who and the Sherlock Holmes graphic novel A Study in Scarlet.
